The photo is taken from the other end of Brick kiln St, The arrow on the later c1937 map shows where the camera is approximately pointing. By this time the Red lion has gone

The map was in reply to a request in the previous post for the position of the Red lion in brickiln st, and it is shown on the junction of that St and Lancaster st

Taking Vivienne’s list from post 11, and adding the Waterworks Tavern, may complete the PHs in Lichfield Road according to the Kelly’s of 1868. The dates are the earliest that we have seen mentioned.

I have marked them on the 1902 OS Map.

Golden Cross (1826
The Vine (1839
Church Tavern (1865
Red Lion (1866
Aston Hall Tavern (1862
Victoria Inn (1854
Duke of York (1820
Swan Pool Tavern (1857
Reservoir Tavern (1865
Gunmaker's Arms (1864
Britannia Inn (1850

Water Works Tavern (1863
(King Edward PH .....recorded in 1940 Kelly as King Edward PH)

[Lady P’s post 52, made me look at the top picture and notice that the name of the Reservoir Tavern, at Cuckoo Bridge has been cut off. There was a tollgate there until it was removed in 1862.]
Although not strictly on Lichfield Road, it's worth mentioning the Aston Manor Tavern which from memory was on the corner of Portland Street and Wainwright Street.

think you are correct and i think the building is still there but not certain if its still a pub as i have not been down that way for a while must be a couple of years at least and they were struggling then to stay open apart from match days..edit...this is st view from last year..looks to me as though the pub is closed and boarded up with shiny metal as we can see the reflection of the parked cars
