Yes we lived at 174 from 1955 to 1971yes and it was only when I joined this forum that I realised the bottom half where I lived was surrounded by factories .I know we had to move it was a compulsary purchase for progress I suppose .we did not mind cus we moved to a house with blow out heating which meant NO MORE SHOVELING COAL OUT FROM THE BACK GARDEN OR TRYING TO LIGHT THE FIRE ON A COLD MORNING!!!lovely memories sugar thanks for sharing them with us...i take it you lived in bracebridge st?? my aunt lived at no 71 so i remember it quite well

Of course it was one of my first threads to see and thanks to everyone who supplies the photos a lot of work goes into giving us all the history so thanks AGAIN!!lol sugar i didnt mind setting the coal fire out..us kids used to take it in turns...our paths may have crossed as you were living there during the same years as my aunt and we used to visit her a lot...have you seen the bracebridge street thread yet?...lot of old photos on it

I vaguely remember it. Its was a scaled down roads, pavements including traffic lights and Zebra Crossings etc. All the bikes had a distinctive band on either the crossbar or down tube.Does anyone recall the the Kids cycle track
it appeared on the The Tinker & Tucker Show
when it first opened complete with Zebra Crossings etc it was Old Sixpence for
30 mins the bikes were Yellow Girls and Boys
20 to 24 inches
i was taught to ride there safely by a Staff Member
it came to light today as i mounted a pushbike
