Aston Hall

BCC said in 2021 that 'Forward Together' was independently commissioned as part of a new television series. But no details of the cost - I do hope that the TV company paid for the work. But Birmingham was in a financially different place in 2021. https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/news/...rminghams_diversity_by_going_forward_together

I think it is currently too close to Aston Hall and it is bound to rust. Let's hope it can find a resting place further away.

Handsworth Park adjoins St. Mary's Church containing the graves of Watt, Boulton ano Murdoch. Handsworth was the centre for the Afro-Caribbean community. It also overcame the civil unrest of 1981, so would be a better place for a sculpture demonstrating diversity than a House built in 1635.

I went with the junior school too. I think we went in a double decker bus, I'm sure the school will have booked us in as a group. I haven't a clue on the admission cost, it will have been in old pennies though. It was one of several trips to B6 that I made as a boy, great fun and I'm sure it is one of the reasons, I have always been so interested in history.
