Hello all,

One of my relatives is buried at Merridale Cemetery in Wolverhampton. I've got the grave number but that's all.

Has anyone on here visited Merridale Cemetery? Do you know if the graves are clearly marked and is there a map showing the sections?

Thanks.

I have just tried to find out if there is a map for the plots in Merridale Cemetery. I have phoned the Wolverhampton Civic Centre on 01902 556556 and they put me in touch with someone who I have emailed the references to that I am interested in.
They are going to get in touch with me so it might be worth you giving them a ring.

Hi Ragga,
Yes this would be Jeffcock Road. It was also called Wolverhampton General Cemetery.

Hello Brawnr,
Just had an email back from the Wolverhampton Civic Centre. They are going to have a look and send me a map of where the graves are located that I am interested in. So well worth the phone call.
I am not sure if there will be any marked graves as most of my ancestors were poor!!!:(

Thanks for the phone number, I'll try and give them a ring tomorrow.

Most of my relatives were poor as well, so I'm pretty used to visiting a patch of grass! But you never now, this person owned a butchers shop so they must have had a few bob.

Cheers.
