Ancestry website query

You always need to look at original documents if possible as transcribers only put what they think.
I have a great aunt transcribed as India when her name is Julia. Looking at the original I can see why someone put India but the rest of the family tell me it shoukd be Julia. I corrected it.
Did you get to correct it on Ancestry(how?) or do you mean in your own records. I notice in some instances you can get to see marriage certificates and in others not, is there a date cut off?

Corrected on Ancestry. When you find a record this is what you see. If you click on Add or update youcan amend a record. It won't show immediately until Ancestry have checked then it will show as a note under the transcription.

There is a cut off date for marriages but, in general, you only see those where the church records are on Ancestry. So no register office marriages, no Catholic marriages (on FMP).
