Seeking on info to see if Alice Frances Cooper or her son, George Edward were operating as pawnbrokers in/around 1937.
In 1901 Alice and her husband Richard were operating from their home at 752 Coventry Rppad. Alice and Richard had been pawnbrokers for several years.
Richard died in 1908.
When George married Gertrude Cooper in 1909 he is listed as pawnbroker's assistant. I am assuming this is with his mother.
I do not know what happened to Richard and Getrude after the wedding.
Alice was living with her daughter Kate at 365 Cherrywood Road Saltley in the 1911 census.
I have been told by a forum member that George was living with his mother at 365 Cherrywood Road Bordesley/Saltley between 1920-1935. I am not sure of the source of this information. I thought perhaps they were operating a business from home.
Is anybody able to assist?
many thanks.
