Great to read all this. Yes, I was at Adderley Infants and Juniors, then onto Cherrywood. I lived in the flats opposite Hall Road. Mr Tennant was our form master in the first year then I moved to 2nd year and it was Miss Oldbury. After 2 weeks the school decided I was too old to be in the 2nd year and moved me to 3rd year where I was in the same class as Roy Pugsley, Tony Belfield, you, Martin Raithby Jean Kennedy etc etc. I remember Eddie Matthews very well (he was form master in 4E) He was the teacher in charge of the Library and Jean Kennedy and myself used to run The Library Journal. I made up a song to the tune of Uncle Tom Cobley about Mr. Tennant's car which we published! I remember Cheryl Griffin too, she left school at the same time as I did, Christmas 1966. She was very good friends with Barbara who lived in Cherrywood Road close to the little shop. My brother, John, went to Adderley too. He is 18 months older than me. He passed his 11+ and went to Saltley Grammar and was in the same form as Mr. Tennant's son, Lawrence. I remember Mr. Hinks at Adderley (frightened of him!). Mr Hughes at Cherrywood taught us Maths. I was in detention once and it fell on the day he was on duty. All he did was took out names and then told us all to go. Remember Mr. Jackson, English? Mr. Frear, boys PE. Then there was a female PE teacher who become Mrs. Frear but I cannot remember her name. How about Isabel Bluck and Paul Bamford? By the way Mr. Matthews moved to Wales, sadly he died recently, however his son carries on with the music. So may happy memories.
