A railway station

Peter Walker

gone but not forgotten
When I was little, trains stopped at a railway station. When our kids were little trains still stopped at railway stations, and if they were to call them 'train stations', I would tell them off, although I knew that that name was standard in the USA. But today, it's only us geriatrics who say railway station. This is not peculiar only to Birmingham of course
Peter

As I was going to the wayrail station,
I met a bark,
He dogged at me.
So I picked up a street
Out of a stone
And necked his knock in
Nearly.

(Sorry, folks; went off on one there  ) I think you have it there, Peter. And, as kids we always played in the horse road - don't think any of the kids do now though. :P But aren't railways railroads in the States?

Yes, and trains are services and passengers are customers.
Please make sure you take all your luggage with you, do not leave anywhere on the station unattended, and thank you for using gobbldegookrail!

Water Orton Cattle Sidings

Hi

Interesting pre War 30's picture of a LMS 0-6-0
on its way through Water Orton. To the Left
is the Dog Inn Car Park area but this picture
shows the Cattle Pens.
The Train is coming off the Coleshill line
to Leicester.
