Widow & Widower married 1780 St Martins

In a search for something else came across this unanswered question from some years ago. I assume it's been solved but just to contrast how much easier genealogy has become a quick search reveals... Peter Fellows married Sarah Cash 2 Jul 1769 Harborne. She died Aug 1780, just a couple of months...

Miss Price's Prep School - Linwood Road, Handsworth

It was 99 on the 1939 Register as well not 91, that was a different Price family (will amend). Clara and Hilda are 2 of her other sisters.

Miss Price's Prep School - Linwood Road, Handsworth

On the 1939 Register Florence is listed at 99 Linwood Road with a younger sister. She is listed as a School Mistress. Some of her sisters were teachers also.

Peers surname, from around Latimer Street South and Cregoe St

I see the Westley name came from Walter's grandmother, Selina Westley.

As mentioned the 67 year old Ivy Lane who died in 1988 was probably born in Aug 1920, your Ivy Lane was born Jan 1923. Even when years of birth are wrong (rarely this recent) months are invariably correct, so I would doubt this death is the right one.

The death reg. for the other Ivy Lane buried in 1988 was probably in Bromsgrove. Neither 1988 death has the correct age (dobs 13 Apr 1899 & 9 Aug 1920). Ivy Lane (nee Miles) was born Jan 1923.

    Iommi family

I can find all that you've listed but none of it helps to find her death. The only Ivy Lane that had a death reg. in Bham 1988 was born in 1899. Best fit is still the one in 2007.

Iris died in 1985 Violet died in 2003 William died in 1931 before his 1st birthday There is no death reg. for Terence up to 2024

There is a record that appears to be for the above Ivy Lane at Yardley Crem and a William Lane in 2010 at Yardley Crem that matches a death reg. for a William b1919.

Are you sure she died in 1988? There is no death reg. listed that matches for that year but there's one for an Ivy Lilian Lane in 2007? Did she live in Torrey Grove?

    Is it this one... https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Old_maps_of_Birmingham#/media/File:Birmingham_-_Westley_Map_1731.png

I can't see a reg. for a sister called Ada but Iris was Iris Joan and Violet was Violet Amy.

Quite a bit of litter on that third photo, which you don't often see on old photos.

She's definitely the Somerville Road Martha Wells/Brain.

    The Brain Family

Are you sure her husband (John H Wells) died before she married Frederick Brain? That's usually one reason for using an 'previous' name. The only matching death I can see is reg. Dec 1944.

    O'Neill

There is a little more info I could give (eg moved to Wales) but it's stuff you'd already know. Below is a link to a site from which you can order Irish certificates but you appear to provide a few more details than you wold for an English one...

    O'Neill

Sorry about that then, I thought it might be after the info Faerny gave. Your mother was Philomena Sheehan? There do appear to be a number of trees with them on Ancestry but none appear to list your dad's parents.

    O'Neill

A few things don't seem to match so I may have steered you on to the wrong path. Is the obituary posted definitely your dad's?

Smith William, sawyer, Upper Marshall Street 1851 census

It's amazing what you can find out when you start looking. I noticed that the Wells name was passed down as a given name in the Cantrills for at least 5 generations. I found that interesting, I had a similar thing with the name Austin.

    O'Neill

Terence David O'Neill born 1 Nov 1942. Obit. is in the Bham Mail 27 Feb 1995. Irish births are online up to 1925 and marriages to 1950 only. Asking family is probably the place to start, to see what they might know or what docs they might have.
