Agree, that pointed spire in the background is a well known landmark in Erdington at Highcroft. I also know it was bombed in WWII apparanlty on the same raid as my grandmothers house back garden was hit in Hermitage Road.

I vaguely remember it. Its was a scaled down roads, pavements including traffic lights and Zebra Crossings etc. All the bikes had a distinctive band on either the crossbar or down tube.

I recall the station when younger and its not really changed in my memory with the Lichfield side not having a canopy. I have seen photos of the crash and the station looked quite trashed too, so my vote would be with Roger Lea

I think you could be right. I remember this one when the Distructor or Salvage yard was still operating. The towing patch used to run down both side of the canal here, but in recent years you have to use the Brookvale Road as the turnover to cross to the opposite side now. This is all overgrown.
