We used to see them in the Bournemouth area too, back in the 60s. Not now I think.

    Plaza Ballroom, Old Hill

I went there once with some friends who played in a band, we got a lift from Birmingham so I don't remember exactly where it was. What I do remember was the revolving stage used when the bands changed over!

    Aston Hall

I went to an Aston Hall by Candlelight years ago, not quite as early as 1956 though! As far as I remember the Hall continued to do them for many years - I wonder if they still do?

I don't think I properly appreciated how honoured I was to be in the footsteps of so many great artists!

    Old Birmingham Repertory Theatre

I've been on the stage at the Old Rep! There used to be evenings classes upstairs in the studios and I went to a Mime class, we put on a little show at the end of term and performed to a small audience.

    Bingley Hall

Interesting, it says that there was a fire in 1984 and the Hall was subsequently demolished although the NEC had already been opened by then. I can't say I remember the fire, that sort of thing happening to old buildings makes me slightly suspicious but, in this case, I guess being demolished...

    Snow Hill Station

Yes, it's the same with any area that's had a petrol station on it but I think maybe that's just 7 years?

Ah...now you mention it, I think I remember that too.

    Snow Hill Station

Again - great set of photos! It's surprising the amount of spare ground that we can't normally see around the area, another world really.

I remember that shop, it was quite an open area at the back  I never saw anything but was aware it went on. I guess they were doing it to ensure it was Halal as required in the Muslim religion.
