    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

We now move to Cattell Road and Coventry Road , just across the road from the Blues ground, nice square globes on the sides and double aspect too. See how the building is set back to the right hand side with a flat area on the left side, note the large trough in front - I would say a horse...

We now move into the past - Albert Street 1954 Salvation Army Hostel on the corner and a fine line of buildings heading away from us, love the shapes and sizes of the arched windows and wrapped around features under the eaves. Large clock at the front too.

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

My list says old buildings Lichfield Road, a close look at the photo sees the road sign say "koo" so I am assuming Cuckoo Road. A dark picture needed much lighting hence the top of the white building disappearing , it is nicely propositioned, central shop door, two windows either side and three...

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Moving along Lichfield Road to the junction with Priory Road, and we have King Edward VIII, I am at a loss to the actual location , my list is a bit vague and it has all changed around here. Nice shape to this building built on an angle with three arched windows downstairs and and three above ...

We now move onto Roll 58, unfortunately not all picture were taken on a sunny day, this roll is one of those occasions. First up Church Tavern, Lichfield Road and Waterworks Street this was taken in November 1991, looking rather sad with the windows boarded up, upstairs see the stone window...

A move to the right and we this a location, gas holders, old warehouse, rail line and bridge - interesting road layout as both lane are heading away from us road sign points to Adderley Park and Duddeston but there is no road heading towards us (?)

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Back to the Gas holders - so we have a rough idea where we are - electrified rail line and a new road going off to the distance - not opened yet

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

This time we are in a similar location to previous pictures - high rise etc - this makes it look like it is set in a waste land though

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

This image is more recognisable Gas holder - bridge over a canal but we are the wrong side of the road sign to confirm the location - road in front is closed so I assume more road works

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

I am afraid I have no ideas of locations in this area they may be near each other of totally separate, nice sunny day - with a hint of gas holder on the left, a random traffic light and construction vehicles scattered around.

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

The next view is of a number of high rise flats - the properties as the back left I recognise (over towards Duddeston?) , lot of road works ( i did warn you)

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

We now move onto Roll 57, these last two rolls have been quite small as there were lots of pictures of a vehicle run ( lorries busses and old cars) which seems to have gone down Aston Road North, all August 1991. The rest of the roll is covered by the following description " The redeveloping of...

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Turning back round we return to the industrial buildings seen earlier, giving a glimpse of what the area may have looked at the turn of the century - a close look can see that the two buildings are different the right hand building is four storeys and has a louvered roof for ventilation, note...
