OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

We now move onto Roll 57, these last two rolls have been quite small as there were lots of pictures of a vehicle run ( lorries busses and old cars) which seems to have gone down Aston Road North, all August 1991.
The rest of the roll is covered by the following description " The redeveloping of the new road ways in Nechells Park Road and Nechells Place and Saltley Road" as I don't know the area and the pictures are from 1991 I will add a few comments and post the pictures.
The HP sauce factory pins the location, and a large car park and lots of building spoil and pipes

We now hop over to Digbeth and this time it is as if nothing has changed, we are looking down Floodgate Street to Digbeth with Little Ann Street on the right, working from the left Ashton Engineering - still there, viaduct - same, pub- yes, factory with the steel windows - yes and even under the bridge the large building on the right is still there - and it looks fine - the only change is the Swan is now know as the Ruin .

Another change is that Digbeth is covered in graffiti these days......

We now move to the other side of the bridge and see how big the building site is - there are barriers and piles of rubble everywhere, if you see whyere the bridge height sign is you can work out where the original road line was.
