Brilliant photos Lyn!!!
Those two phots in #26 are of interest to me too Lyn. My dad worked as a carpenter for Birmingham City Housing Department and was based at James St Depot. He often told me of a small maintenance yard the council workmen would pop into for a cup of tea and to use the workbench to do small joinery jobs. It was located on the corner of Nursery Road, but I don’t know which one.hi folks lets make a start...some will know that i lived in villa st off nursery road from 58 to 72 so these photos mean a lot to me..so much so that i had them all printed off in A4 glossy...hope they are of interest ..if you hover over the photos the exact dates they were taken should be there also the numbers of the houses on some will also be there...enjoy

Hi Lyn - do you have any more "lost" photos of the Newtown area where you and me were brung up?
Interesting photos, Lyn. I recognise one or two that have appeared on BHF but they were worth seeing again. Pity there wasn't any No. 8 buses.
Ah! yes, I see the bus now.
thanks mark...i hope our member mike48 sees all the new photos i have just posted as he has a good memory of nursery road

Thank you for those photos Lyn, particularly the last one as I attended the Salvation Army 1957- 1958 before going into the Training College. So many lovely memories of the area and people. As a matter of interest can anyone give me information of the Church shown in a number of the photos please
