    You can just make out the rear light cluster of ablue Austin Allegro in post #3, which was launched in 1973. So the photo must have been taken in '73 or later.

    I have some photos of the lovely murals that existed outside the rear entrance to Birchfield Tower, taken in 2010, just before demolition. I do hope members find them of interest!

    Great photos, Steve! Yes, the mark I Ford Capri dates the photo to 1969 or later, while the Datsun Cherry on the right was launched in Britain in 1970. This style of bus - open at the back - was withdrawn from service in Birmingham in 1977. So that narrows the date to a seven-year window.

    Hello Richard, I am sure that houses in Broughton Road, including no. 23, were still standing in 1976. My father moved away from Broughton Road to council accommodation in Nechells by the end of that year.
