Found this picture amongst those for Cheddar Gorge, but have a feeling it could be the gardens in Aston Park. There is a statue and a block of flats that may help...
Could be almost anywhere that there are flower borders, Pedro, but you can be pretty sure it ain't Cheddar Gorge! That bank on the right with the white statue is probably your only chance of identifying it, if, of course, it is still there.
I think the urns at Aston Hall were once white. Actually looking again I think that’s William Bloye’s Pan statue at Aston Hall ! The one that lost its head. Viv.
By Pedrocut. The rear and gardens of Aston Hall (Scan from slide of the 1970s). The spire of Aston Parish Church can be seen just to the right of the Hall.
Much of it obscured now by tree growth. Don’t think you can see Aston church spire now either (#10). Interesting that the church is much lower than Aston Hall. Gives a better impression of the Hall being on a hill with good views all across the area. Well at least way back in time. Viv.
