TAINTY / TAINTEY Help please!

slinton

proper brummie kid
I am looking for Mother of Mary Tainty.

Her Fathers name was George (detail in 1935 marriage cert to Charles Richard SMITH) but I can not pinpoint Mother.
I also can not find any more info about Father.

She had a brother known as Bill TAINTY (most likely William).

I have 2 options of year of birth 1911 and 1914

Lived in Birmingham but may have been born in Gloucestorshire.

Thank you for reading this,,, I hope you can help me.

this one seems to fit in 1911 living 4 back 219 barford st. bham

mary susan foster widow 48 b.bham
maud taintey daughter 25 married japanner water pots b.bham
george taintey son-in-law married 28 sawyer wire mattress b.bham
mary taintey granddaughter 3 mths b.bham
william stringer brother 45 porter b.bham

and theres a marriage of george taintey to maud foster 1910 oct-dec 6d 245

and a birth of alfred w. taintey in 1912 apr-jun birmingham 6d 294 (maybe middle name was william) mothers maiden name foster

theres also a george taintey born 1914 kings norton with mothers maiden name foster

and birth of james taintey 1915 kings norton mothers maiden name foster

Thank you so much for your time and effort Shera.

My problem is that although I can find the 3 son's with FOSTER mother maiden name,,, I can not find MARY TAINTEY (TAINTY)'s Mother at all!!
I even ordered a marriage cert from GRO which confirmed the Father's name as George Tainty (with no e),,, but even after hours of focusing just on that,, I still can not confirm.

Yes, she (Mary) did have 2 brothers called George and Bill (William) which no-one knew was really Alfred! and as for James I have an early death for him in the same year he was born.
On the marriage cert in 1935 Mary was stated as being 24 so she was born about 1910/11,,
The parents, Maud and George, marriage was in last Qtr of 1910 and Mary used to celebrate her birthday in November.... so (soory for rambling!) either she was born a year after they got married or,,,,
However, the only Mary Tainty I can find is the early 1q of 1911.

I wouldn't mind the confusion if I could just confirm her birth Mother.

Thank you once again,,, I really appreciate your attention.

Sheila.

hi sheila, well her mother was maud foster i would think. i expect they got married in october and maybe she was born late november 1910 but not registered until january 1911.

you can confirm by ordering the birth certificate for mary taintey 1911 jan-mar birmingham 6d 153.

on the 1911 she is with george and maud taintey and living with mauds widowed mother, mary susan foster.

it was common for women to be pregnant on their wedding day, although these two left it a bit late!

Thank you again for your attention....

Yes! of course! how simple is that answer!? It's completely logical that they didn't 'register' the birth til after the New Year! Maybe it was heavy snow!)

You see it every time you look for a birth record,, it does actually say 'registered'!

I think I shall have to order the BCert to confirm and put an end to this for sure.

Actually,, talk about deja-vu! ! I got married in the November and had my first baby in the January! Maybe no-one in my family really wanted to get married!! but gave in before the baby was born!

I think I can move on now with my family tree.
Thank you so much for your help Shera. :)
