The Squadron base on Golden Hillock Rd , how long has it been there(at least 30yrs) and any ideas what was there previously?

Was it the ATC? I know there was one around there somewhere as a couple of friends used to attend in the 1960's. Although I thought it was further up by the canal and the old BSA site.
