Patrick lichfield photos

Morning Lyn,
Can't wait to see the photos.
Has as been said, take them in natural daylight without flash, use a tripod if you have one.
Good luck for the meet-up today.
Regards John.
PS Why not write to the Antiques Roadshow.

Lyn will we ever get to see these pic's? having visited Shrugbough some 3 weeks ago, I was taken with the photos on display by Lord Patrick all the many stars & nobles taken in a time which is now long gone.
Have you ever thought that if you cannot sell, Donating them to the TRUST at Shrugborough?

Lyn,.
Just thought one of our members may add some light as to the locations?
Looking forward to the post.
Have a good meet, sorry I cannot make it today.

if you dont think brian would mind chris..ok i shall bring them then.... and you can all play guess the locations:)

lyn

Lyn - I would suggest a specialist sale say one that features photographs from a number of other well known photographers. I will take a look see at a site I am a member of to see what is about.

Here are the Patrick Lichfield photographs I am posting on behalf of Lyn, the pictures are all quite dark as if they have been taken in twilight.
Brian

thanks brian...so much better than i could have done...:) if anyone can pinpoint any of the locations that would be great...

lyn:)

On the pic with the viaduct bridge the cars seem to be on the right hand side of road suggesting its outside this country ??? Eric

thats what i thought eric....sometime next week i am going to email the pics to a london studio...with a bit of luck they may know or be able to find out exactly where they were taken....

lyn...:)

Lyn, I don't want to muddy the waters, but in one of the pictures you have wind turbines on a hill side I have a feeling that might be in Spain,I Have seen the same going towards Alcoy costa Blanca. plus one of the other photos I saw yesterday had shown cactus. It well maybe that the pictures were taken in different countries.

Great Pictures Lyn...Thanks for sharing them with us.
I hope someone can tell you where they are taken.
Patrick Lichfield was in Morocco and Sardinia in the late 60's as he took some photos of famous people there.
Polly :)

Sorry folks I disagree, they are totally boring, (sorry Lyn), they look to me as though it's someone trying to be very arty farty, and as if it's a project that you do at college.
Don't mean to put a damper on things, but that's my input, (I'm quite disapointed actually).
Regards John.

John, did you see the back of the pictures? they had a label marked Lichfield studios on them. so I would imagine that they would be genuine plus the signature adds weight to their authenticity

Not denying their authenticity, just very boring, and maybe they were early shots, as some students do for their projects, Sorry.

In 1968 I spent two months on the island of Sardinia and those photos look nothing like it. (Just trying to eliminate locations)

They are in the early days and the tehcnology was not as it is now. Also landscape do not look so good in black and white. They are photo's of the time. I can imagine and early Aston Martin wizzing down those empty roads. I am with you Frothy I quite like them.:)

Some people are very rude. It's not about whether we like them or not, but as to whether we have any idea where they were taken surely. Thanks Lyn for allowing us to see them. Have no idea about art in any shape or form, but its nice to have an opportunity to see something that will certainly be worth somebodies money you can be sure., and you lyn are the one who has them to sell. GREAT.
Lynda:)
xxxx
P.S. You didn't have the euromillions lottery ticket as well did you?

I'm not sure as to the convention regarding responses to comments; but I'll stick my neck out here and say that yours are bordering on the crass!

I'd be proud to own those photographs.
