Mugshots

Tony B

master brummie
I was reading in a national newspaper the other day about how some one found a 100 year old constabulary arrest book in a skip in Derby...
They showed a few mugshots of criminals in the day , but one stood out straight away has he was wearing a first world war uniform...
And to my surprise he was from Hockley in Brum.. His name was Thomas Donald....
His previous convictions on his record was very diverse and20221005_174729.jpg20221005_174729.jpg Interesting and also his sentences was quite detailed....
I say no more , but i will download the records for a interesting read....

The 5 years he got for the last offence didn't make him change his ways. In the newspaper in 1923 for forged notes and numerous times after.

Hi...
Yes.... MWS you are correct... on a closer look there is small c before his surname ...
So his name is M c Donald....

As he's in uniform, was he in the Army in WW1?
38 seems quite old to be a soldier then - maybe I'm wrong about that?

Well , reading of his time in prison he has missed most of WW1.
McDonald has convictions in Derby and Sheffield , maybe he was a vagrant with no abode....

He also appears to be listed as Macdonald and McDonough (in newspaper reports).
