Graham Knight (was O.C. on here many moons ago) posted this on his Old Prints site this morning....never heard of it, so gave it a good research....to no avail.....it's a bit of a mystery....The old building seems to be still extant, and occupied by a N.A.Bailey...Builders and land developers....on property ?owned by Bham University?....here are some pics from him, and what I could find, of the probable site on the Bristol Road, next to Westhill College.....Anyone help please?

I'm rather late to this conversation. I have happy memories of KIngsmead from my childhood. My grandfather who died before I was born was a gardener there, followed by my uncle. He and my aunt lived at KIngsmead Lodge, the first building as you turned in from the Bristol Rd. I learned to ride a bike in the grounds. It was a Methodist training college I believe.
Here is the 1939 entry which includes them:

1939 Kingsmead College

Christopher S Naish 06 Apr 1885 Warden Of Cottage
Gladys M Naish 28 Apr 1889 Wife Of Warden
Stephen Naish 22 Mar 1917 Teacher
Margaret A Groves (Macdonald) 12 Jun 1888 Housekeeper
Eleanor G Mellor 13 Sep 1887 Tutor
Sarah H Connah 11 Mar 1878 Housekeeper

Charles E Phillips 23 Jul 1908 Gardener
Winifred M Phillips 28 Sep 1910 Gardener Wife
Rosemary Alvina Rogers (Phillips) 24 Jul 1937 Under School Age
Edith Smith 14 Mar 1890 Cook
Lohia Sahibaksh 30 Jan 1898 Student

I last went there in 1969-ish.
