Just watching the end of Flog It on BBC2. I am not sure if it's a repeat but its in the Town Hall. There was a smashing clip in the middle at the Back to Backs with our own Chris Upton. Not sure if it can be accessed on IPlayer.:)
 
Oh thanks Kev I thought it was very good. I know Chris Upton we went on his bus trip a couple of weeks ago. I must find out if he is doing any more walks too. Thanks for posting the link.
 
thanks for that link kev...we are so lucky to have those back to back houses remaining...ive been there twice already and im hoping to go again to the carols in the courtyard theme in december..all the staff dress in period costume etc...:)

I saw the programme Wendy, it showed Birmingham in good light, was this the same programme where they also visited the silver works (forgotten the name was it Evans) that they are going to open as a museum.

Yes it is a good clip Jean I watched it again too. Sylvia I don't think the Silver Works were on this program I did see it but can't remember what it was on.
 
Hi the j.w.evans on hidden heritage the 14th august,it sounds an interesting place but similiar to the museum of the jewellery quarter on vyse street.
 
Sorry brummie60 I disagree the Jewellery Quarter Museum is an old gold jewellery manufacturer who specialised in gold bamboo bracelets very fashionable at one time as well as other jewellery items.

J.W. Evans is a silver and silver plate manufacturer a very different business.
 
your correct wendy, I was drawing comparisons with the machinery etc.Ive been around the factory and its very impressive,hopefully It will draw in the visitors and bring more people to the quarter,especially the Pen museum, a great place to go.
 
hi ya steve..both jw evans and the jewellery museum on still on my list of places to visit...little meet up at the jewellers arms sat lunchtime if you are passing that way..:)

hi sue...you have phone back to backs...they dont start taking bookings till sept but you will have to be quick as i believe these theme events are only on a few days....dont think it includes the tour of the houses as it will be dark but brummie60 (steve) who is a guide at the back to backs may confirm this for us...
