Christmas Quiz

MWS

from Bham
EDIT - I will highlight the questions answered correctly in green. Which doesn't stop anyone having a go, just that the answers have already been given.

A multi-part quiz covering a range of subjects and styles. Clicking on the title of each quiz will take you directly to it. With regards the area quizzes, some areas may appear more than once. I've tried to be as careful as possible but if you do spot any mistakes, let me know.

Please allow others to have a try before posting answers. Thanks.

Local Geography Quizzes (post 2)
Three separate quizzes.
Areas of Birmingham (ish) Quiz - similar to previously but this time most of the answers are from the surrounding area, with only a few from Birmingham itself.
Opposites - each clue represents the opposite of an area of Birmingham or the surrounding region.
Gibberish - each clue is an anagram of an area or areas of or bordering Birmingham. The first eight are all areas with two words, whilst the final six are two single word areas with a connection.

Famous People Crossword (posts 3 and 4)
Similar to previous, each answer is the surname of a person from or connected with Birmingham or the surrounding area and once solved the red letters will spell out an answer associated with Birmingham. Please note there may be more than one answer that fits a couple of questions, these people will be related - siblings, father & son etc - surname will be the same so either/any will do.

Music and History (post 5)
Two separate quizzes.
Top of the Brummie Pops - each of the listed songs from bands/singers with a Birmingham (or nearby) connection peaked at a different position in the UK top 10. Match each song with it's position to give a virtual top 10.
Birmingham History Timeline - each of these is an event in the history of Birmingham. Match each event to one of the years given.

Street Map (post 6)
The map (click to enlarge) is of the centre of Birmingham, from which I have removed a number of street names. Solve the following clues and locate the street. Please note the map originally contained some streets that were not labelled.

Picture Quiz (post 7)
Each of the pictures (click to enlarge) is of a Birmingham building and each corresponds to a number on the map. However, to make it a little more tricky, four of the numbers are red herrings.

I assume that if we post an answer you want us to include the quiz title as well?

Have deciphered some of the "gibberish" clues but not posting yet.

Famous People:
10. The answer is Smith, but perhaps another forename is required to fit in the grid?

Close but not Smith or AllSmith.

Hopwas wrong also.

With the Street Map, the location of the streets as well. Between suchandsuch and suchandsuch St perhaps or by a named building.

3. When and where the daffodils bloom.

Saw the palm trees down Summer Lane, so the daffodils may be Spring Hill ?
