Buriel place, George Crutchley.

lynne webb

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
I'm trying to find the buriel place of George Crutchley b. abt 1830 and died Jan.qtr 1901 at 10 Victoria Road Handsworth. He doesn't appear to be in Handsworth Cem. so has anyone any ideas for where he could be please.
Thanks. Lynne.

I've looked on FMP, but he's not showing up as being in Key Hill or Warstone Lane. There is a Henry Crutchley buried in WL in 1901 (6 in the grave)

Leslam, would you be able to give me the names of the others in the grave with Henry Crutchley please. There is a possibility he could be the brother of George and maybe theres a clue there. Thank you.
Lynne.

I'll look to see if I can work it out - they aren't listed independently, but if they are all Crutchleys it may be possible to do so. If not, Key Hill Brian may be able to use the reference to identify who else is in the grave.

Lynne, have you got the National Probate details for him? They give an actual date of death, IM me if you don't want them on the thread, or let me lnow via thread and I will pass them on. Doesn't give any clue to burial place though!
Sue

Leslam, thanks so much for the time and trouble, if you have no luck I will try Brian.
Sue, Ive got the Probate so know when he died but finding his grave is proving a bit of a problem. He's not in WL, KH, Handsworth or St.Marys Handsworth. I've E Mailed Witton but no reply yet. Thanks both.
Lynne.

It's not easy to work out from FMP, but I have used www.jqrg.org to find the grave number and the original inscription for J 2346 . It's not clear if the memorial is there or was laid flat. I'll send you the details - not clear if I should post information from JQRG on here.

If you want me to locate the grave on a section map, let me know

Leslam, If its not too much trouble I would like for you to locate the grave on a map please. Thanks so much.
Lynne.

I have a map and I've located the grave. I'm not sure if it's OK for me to add the map on here (I need to check with Brian first), so if your send me a message with your email address, I'll forward it to you

Leslam and Brian, thank you both so much for all your help, I cant believe there are so many Crutchleys but i will go through each one on the list to see if any are connected. The map will be very useful for when I drag Lyn (Astoness) round to find it. Thanks again, you really are brilliant people.
Lynne.

WL_J_2346_Crutchley_family.JPG Hi Lynne, just got back from WL - pic attached - cross is detached from base. Base is badly scored on 3 sides - scraped by machinery probably - have taken more pics but will mess about loading into/out of Coppermine after a bath & dinner. Grave is about 7 rows from main path and about the same in from the sloping path - pics to follow in an a couple of hours.
