  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

1950 USA Census

Thanks for the heads up on that MWS, many of us have relations there and may find it helpful. Viv.

The 1950s census is in the process of being released. Review of computer generated data is taking place, which anyone can help with...

 
At the moment it's free, so you don't need any subscription to access it. However, it is in the beta stage and most of the census hasn't been indexed so searching is a lot more miss than hit.

You can use the map to look at records in all parts of the country but unless you can significantly narrow down where the person you're looking for it's very much needle in a haystack.
 
Ancestry seem to be progressing quite well. You can search properly now and the scans are available without a subscription atm.
