  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

    dunlop xmas party..

    In the photograph, the man on the left with the party hat, leaning over was my Dad and I'm the little one half hidden. He worked at Dunlop for 30 or so years in B Block and always helped organise the Christmas party. His name was Sid Atkins if anyone remembers him..I guess the chairs are empty...

    Hi Zonda:) I well remember the Top Rank, I used to go there every Saturday morning when I was 12 - only squash and cola served:D and progressed to a Tuesday night. I loved it :):) I was about 16 when I used to go on Tuesdays - naughty :D:D

    My Mom Hazel also worked at the High Street Co-op up until around 1979 I think. She was a supervisor in the food hall on the ground floor and worked with her friend Floss Savage. Anyone remember these two?

    Hi Reg My Mom Hazel Atkins and her friend Pat Powis worked at Fordrough Lane and I think at Garrison Lane too. She retired in 1980 - I think the Post Office became British Telecoms? My brother David Atkins also worked there when it was the Post Office and played for the football team. He...
