this is why the photos taken by my brothers friend are so important to see steve...his photos probably date from the 70s onwards and if you had not taken up the task of taking them off the negatives would most likely have ended up in the skip

Finally, this, I assume is part of the ICC / Arena redevelopment - but what and where are we looking? As with all I have posted tonight they are on a negative sheet which the information sheet says 1-4, city views, well we have had more than that and no other information is provided. Over to you - and a plan?

Yes, I would guess that would be in the Cumberland Street area where Barbarellas club used to be, that was in an old commercial building.
The flats to the right would probably be in Summer Hill?

More for my benefit I am carrying on with sheet 20, we have finished the tour and are back onto pubs again.

First up is The Red Lion Lichfield Road 31st August 1961

The next picture includes more of the wider street scene this is the Nags Head in Spring Hill, taken 14th July 1964,, note the pram and a selection of cars down the road.

This is the Moseley Arms on Moseley Road corner of Revenhurst Street ( should that be Ravenhurst Street). Obviously the day the pies were delivered to the cafe next door judging by the van with Meat Pies on the side - anyone recognise the company name, picture taken 2nd May 1959.

This is the Highgate Tavern Moseley Road 14th April 1960, sorry for the dark image - best I could get I am afraid - as with all these pictures they were scanned from negatives but were often a picture of a picture. How few cars there are and people even .

This rather non descript building is The Hyde on Hyde Road corner of Monument Street, Ford Consul in the street and a corporation dust cart in the background I believe, taken 2nd July 1964. Thanks to Mikejee for the correction

This bright summers day has us outside the Great Western in Icknield Street 2nd July 1964, note the remains of the demolished property down the road with the fireplaces left hanging

The rather dark image is of the Freeth Arms Freeth Street 14th May 1961, its amazing at the lackof people in the picture and traffic, could someone tell me if 14th May was a Sunday in 1961? Confirmed by Stokkie on post #47 thankyou

This is the Crown Stores Monument Road and Ledsham Street, with fine cobbled street and a nice van on the left.
As with all these titles I am at the mercy of a typewritten sheet - if something is wrong do shout and I will amend it - I may even credit you, or change it and have people later on wondering what you are on about !!

Going to the front of Alpha Tower, ATV / Central studios to the left the buildings to the left of Alpha Tower I watched been demolished when working on the 9th floor of Alpha Tower. also note the gap to the left of Baskerville House - I worked in there too, where the new library now stands

Next is the Bridge Inn Monument Road, and you can just make out the cast iron urinal with lamp over it very useful on dark evening I imagine. Taken 2nd March 1961 to the left of the people is that a " Bus clock" I would try and name it but there are too many experts !!

Yes, a Sunday. A good day to take photos without people! And to take photos from the road.

Quick update - I have tweaked a couple of sheets of negatives now, No.20 and 52, 20 had the city tour and pubs and 52 is predominantly pubs , so that the thread does not become a "pub" thread I will post the rest of sheet 52 then search out a more diverse sheet to straighten , and post. I will return to pubs inbetween but with 140+ sheets there are plenty to look for. To give an idea of what I start with here is a photo of a postcard on a large sheet of paper with the title cropped!
