Hi my name is Jonathan Sheldon.
My great great grandfather was Sam Sheldon, who had a few brothers. They were the peaky blinders. I’m trying to source any picture for any Sheldon’s. My father is Paul Sheldon who was a professional boxer and a jeweller, well known in the jewellery quarter.
I grew up selling gold on Appleby horse fair and also in Ireland. Me and my brother are still in the trade today. my father was a very tough man and story's about him from the 1970s have been recently been circulating about him. Any info would be great
 
hi and welcome...do you have anymore info about your gt gt grandfather such as when he was born and i am taking it his name was actually samuel also the names of his parents could be useful...the more info you can give the more we maybe able to help

Hi his name was Samuel Sheldon born around 1870. My dad’s name is Paul Sheldon born 03/03/51. They lived in the back to back houses. My grandads name was John Sheldon, married Joan malabar? Or Ward?. They were cousins to the family FALLS. The Sheldon’s were very well known around south yardley and lived on Beirton road.
I was told stories that one uncle was hung for shooting a police man. Another uncle fought dogs for money in the bullring. My nan (who had a knife scar across her face) was also insistent that the Sheldon’s lent money to members of the royal family lol
 
hi and thanks....sorry for all the questions but do you know when samuel died or who he married..there is a samuel sheldon born 1868/69 on ancestry with a criminal record as long as your arm but i cant be sure he is your samuel sheldon..one of the records gives a mug shot of him..convictions were in birmingham..says he was born in dudley

I am puzzled by the surnames you give for John's wife.
Paul Sheldon's birth seems to be reg with mmn Jervis which ties in with a marriage of John Sheldon to Joan Jervis in 1945.

Hi Jon. Can you tell me if any of your fathers siblings were Mark Sheldon. Michael (Mickey) Sheldon, Jaqueline and Gillian amongst others who's name I can't remember and was your Grandfather John known to everyone as Jackie.

Hi yes my nans name was Joan Jarvis. Sorry I was confused as I lost all the information and she passed away a few years ago. Her funeral was in town at the church by the pavilions (now primark). There’s were hundreds of people

Yes my uncle John and Micheal passed away , they stayed around yardley by millhouse lane. Mark has a jewellery shop in the jewellery quarter. My dad Paul and brother are also in the gold trade. Theres much friction in the family as the peaky blinder blood is still present lol

yes they called my grandad Jackie. Micky was my uncle and Paul was my dad the boxer. They live in yardley.
