You are correct, I got him mixed up with someone else. The photo is of Joe "Joeby" Butler who was awarded the OBE for his improvements to the tank designs. Photo from the BRCW Archive.Joeby Butler.jpg
 
No one fitting the description in the earlier post showed up on a George Medal web site. However, someeone I knew in the fire service was awared the GM for bravery rescuing women and children - I have seen it and the associated ribbon - but I did not see his name on the Wiki page. However, Wiki does have limitations, as does many things posted on the net. :eek:
