Unknown Birmingham photo

This photo is claimed on Facebook to be of an unknown place in Birmingham. It is not familiar to me, and is, of course, not necessarily Birmingham, but is the scene familiar to anyone?

rings no bells with me mike and no clues so it could be anywhere..certainly i would say it could be a birmingham photo

Mike, my first thoughts are it could be Birmingham as the houses look like back to backs. I am not aware of other towns or cities who built them but would not put money on it. A revers image search shows the same image on face book as Brearley Street, Newtown. Numbers 42 and 44

mike can you check the maps to see if the layout is the same as the one in your photo it will be on the same side as st chads school coming up from newtown row...i have this one of number 42 showing the provvy lady visiting the needy..not sure if this is the back or front could be the back as that looks like a covered up mangle in the photo

According to the 1922 electoral roll no 42 was between courts 8 and 10, Presumably nom 42 is the one marked on the map. Looking at the map that does not look like my photo. Possibly Lyns is from the court behind?

thanks mike looking at your map your photo shows numbers 42 and 44 either side of the entrance to courts 10 and 12 so the photo is a good one..
