Hi Jane and Sachka- not sure if you still come on here but I was Tigerlily! I am the GG Grandaughter of Elizabeth Ann Fulford - she is the sister of William Henry & Samuel.
Sachka - Lucy Ellen was another sibling born a year before William Henry.
I think the Fulford's come from a very long line of Victuallers and brewers in Birmingham! It would be nice to be in contact with you both so we can share info and the family tree... Take care & thanks!

Hi Tigerlily, i haven’t been on here for a while but now have in my possession our family bible. I reckon it may have been a gift for Lucy Ellen Fulford, who was my GG Grandmother. I have tried to trace BMD through free search, but it looks like she was married to Richard Walter Beaumont in 1873, then sadly it seems she had two baby boys who died shortly after birth, plus her husband died in1877, same year as one of the babies, perhaps an illness took them both. She remarried Adam Hyslop in 1878, sadly again gave birth in 1879 to another baby boy only to lose him too. In 1880 she did give birth yet again to Alfred Hyslop, luckily he survived. Alfred was my Great Grandfather. Unfortunately I do not know who Lucy Ellen’s siblings or parents were. It would be lovely if the gaps could be filled in. Regards. Sachka

Hi Claire so v sorry this has taken so long but better late than never :) my email address is janefulford1@gmail.com and I would love to hear from you and share. I have tons more info and we must connect J

Hi Jane, I have a family Bible, on researching my ancestry, it seems that William Henry Fulford re Empress Brewery, Manchester was my x4 Great Grandfather, his daughter was Lucy Ellen Fulford, who married Richard Walter Beaumont, after his death married Adam Hyslop. If anyone could verify any of this information or add too, I would be most grateful. Regards. Sachka
Sachka I would very much love to connect and apologies it has taken me so long to revisit here to respond. I would dearly love have more info re the Bible and I have so much more info now. As Claire has stated, Lucy Ellen b. 1843 , was the older sister of William Henry not daughter.
My email address is janefulford1@gmail.com and I so hope we can talk.

hi again Lyn sry re the long gap but I had problems signing in and lost my thread as it were. Tx so much for your thoughts and now I’m back into it again.
It seems that William Henry Fulford and his brother Samuel my great grandfather who ran the Empress Brewery etc, father was Joseph Fulford who originated in Birmingham. I have now established that his father was a John Fulford b @ 1786 and married to Ann Hall b@1796
John is on various records as a publican Victualler and states the address as canal st. I have no idea of the name of the pub he was landlord of but I was v interested in the thread discussion re whether canal st is the same as the current New canal St or different?
I’ve lots more info and it’s v exciting. I will be coming to visit birmingham in July sometime and wondered if there are any regular meeting times of the forum and whether I could connect with anyone.
Apologies for the vv long delay and hoping you are well Jane Fulford

ive been loooking again at how close Great Hampton Row where the brewery was located and how close this is to Mott street and also loveday/price street where the Bull is. I think it is likely to be our John Fulford running the Bull at that time. Canal street is listed as a place of abode and I’m still wondering if this is the New canal street or a separate street as discussed in a previous thread.
Regards Jane
