Primark

Yes I know it's not build yet, just amazed how good it will look.
There will be a few members who will total disagree with me lol :D

I hope they use concrete on those lumps sticking out of better quality than the material they make the clothes out of, else we will ha ebits dropping off in a few months

Mike I entirely agree, I only ever had one shirt from there. It looked great in the box and it looked good when I wore it. The first time it was washed it shrunk that much it wouldn't have fit my five year old grandson. That was back when they were in the old Bullring and I've never let anybody buy me anything else from there since. I suppose I might be being a little unfair because it might be completely different now, but "once bitten"......

Sorry to disagree. During 2004 I bought 2 pairs of denim jeans for 6 pounds per pair from Primark. They came with me when I retired in 2005 & I am still wearing them. Like me, they are now past their best, but they were a real bargain.

It's OK to disagree...I live in Canada, but visit the UK on a regular basis. I bought a winter jacket at Primark in Brighton, more than 10 years ago for 11 pounds and I'm still wearing it. However, more recently I've found that the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up, so my visits to Primark , sadly, are a thing of the past.

Prices seem to go up and down and quality is just as likely to change there as anywhere. Most likely issues I get with clothing is the stitching on jacket pockets that cuts into the fabric. ... and I bought 3 pairs of denim jeans in Primark for £3 each at the beginning of this year. Hope they last a while.

14 years is the record to beat. I'm not only pleased they have lasted so long, but also that I am still the same size.!!

Primark this evening from Moor Street Queensway.

A few evenings ago in the sleet from the High Street. H & M has long since moved out of their High Street unit.

Facades being unveiled by Mace, but the store will no longer open for Christmas but sometime in 2019?

just another boring chunk of concrete to me froth..would not give it first glance never mind a second...architects get good money to design these...childs play if you ask me:rolleyes:

its true though smudge..i have mentioned this before buy my son in law is an american architect and over the years i have shown him photos of many old buildings that have been savaged by the old swing ball and he not only shocked but dismayed..he loves what we have left but as he says there has to be a place for modern architecture but why at the expense of so many fine buildings that will never be replaced

It's not even concrete Lyn, it's metal so probably be rusting away soon.

I suppose it is too much to hope that the building will be like their clothes and fall apart in a few weeks

Park Street view from Eastside, close to the tunnels to New Street Station. Only one bit of scaffolding visible from this view.

Seemed to be a lot of traffic on Park Street. The car parks around the Bullring were filling up due to the sales. Also lots of HS2 hoardings filling the length of Park Street, including the former Island House site. Can't even see where the Fox & Grapes was now!
