Old horns pub

Used to sit outside, Mom was a cleaner there, I used to help the Blacksmith at times :)

I have been known to visit it from time to time in the 70s members of my family live just across the road:)

I've been drinking in there since the mid seventies, I still pop in on a Friday or Saturday night for a meal and a few drinks.

Is that the one that used to have live music ? (I always get mixed up with the names of the pubs at each island along the Queslett Road!)

If it is then yes, I used to go and see bands there sometimes back in the late 70's.

There used to be lots of trouble on Friday nights when the West brom lot came down. That was back in the seventies.

Does anyone remember The Old Horns looking like this?Moss.

Mossg many years ago i can remember going in there when it looked like that back in the 60s when i moved up to Gt Barr. Dek

Yes I remember it like that my late Sister lived just a short way from the shops to the left of the Pub, in the 1970s also went there a lot and if I remember right there was a great Fish & Chip shop facing the pub across the main Road.
Also had a couple of Christmas mornings when we were at my Sister for Christmas day. Happy days:)

nice pic...moss...used to play darts for the old horns when it looked like that...:) then straight accross to the chippy that alf mentioned...think its still there..

lyn:)

Been thinking  I must have been born in the third closest house to the Old Horns :) just behind the Blacksmiths place :)

We pass it a lot but Pete won't go in but it looks a really nice pub. It is probably the reputation it used to have. Jean.

I would have driven past there on a regular basis in the early 1970s,and it's strange but i can't remember it looking any different to the way it looks today.
Moss.

Yes I do, my Aunt and Uncle lived in the road behind it. When I was 'very little' we used to visit and go in the gardens of the pub. It was probably before the time of your photo because I remember GI's in there from the Pheasey Base, and they gave me a stick of chewing gum.
oldmohawk:)

I was born on Hillingford Avenue, behind the Old Horns pub. If I remember rightly it was was run by Schofield (can't recall his first name) but I was mates with his son Greg (who i think went to the caribbean as a golf pro). The same Schioffield bought 'The Trees' pub and renamed it 'Schofields'.

I was a Cat & Fiddle regular, very rarely went in the 'Horns'
