Hi to everybody

Can any one help me please, I have hit a brick wall trying to trace my
wifes family tree.
The family name is Ebbon and the family lived in Aston area from 1800 to 1950. we can trace the family back to 1846 but we cannot find,
John Ebbon snr DoB c1810
John Ebbon DoB 1846 married Martha Tyler DoB 1841, on 24 Dec 1869
John Ebbon snr was listed on the wedding cert as John Ebbon's father
it does not list him as deceased. Please help me find this relation to my wife.

Thank you, briha1693

Ebbon

Hello & Wecome Briha, :)

Presume you already have them RG10/3148 8/6 Aston Rd 1871

If not I can send you fuller details later,

There is a Jeremiah Ebbon b c1805 Bury,Suffolk reside Cambridge
There is a John Ebben b c1808 Hopton, Suffolk reside Rede

Possible Yours :?: Can you get John snr marriage cert?
This would give better search info,
Also consider "They" didn,t always tell the truth at Marrige cert time,
John snr could have already died &/or may not even "existed".
Hope this helps a little, All the Best, John

Ebbon.

Hello John
Thank you for your interest, I have the census 1871 you refer to. I am a member of ancestry.com and have printed off copy of a global search for the name Ebbon, I am aware of Jeremiah Ebbon and his family.I have a wedding cert for John Ebbon & Martha Tyler 1869.

After a long stint on ancestry.com searching through 1500 names I come
up with,
John Ebbern Dob 1806 Warwickshire married Winnifred XXXX DoB 1808
Long Buckby Northamptonshire .
1871 census shows them residing in Aston.

John Ebbern DoB 1809 Sowe Warwickshire married
Winfred xxxx DoB 1811 Sowe Warwickshire

1881 census shows them residence in Aston.

All the best briha

Welcom briha. :D

I found this info on John Ebbern on the Family Search IGI site.

John Ebburn c 15th Dec 1807 Walsgrave on Sowe. Father Thomas. Mother Sarah
They also christened other children:

Thomas 1799
Diana 1801
William 1804
Sarah 1807
Ann 1808
Joseph 1810

Hope this helps

I've just looked at my 1851 copy of the census for Warwickshire and there is no sign of John or Winifred. There is however a Sarah Ebbern, head of household, widow, age 72. Born Sowe. Address is Sowe Foleshill. she has 5 gdau's living wiht her and a servant.

I also found William Ebourn living in Sowe. Aged 47. widower, Inn keeper. He is living with his younger brother Geroge aged 33, Head, Licensed Victualer.

Just a bit of icing to put on the cake if they prove to be right.

:D Di you bet me to it I was going to suggest alternative spellings too. As I have already said in the passed I found this to be the case in my own tree. :)

Chris :)

Hi Briha, I cam across these names on the 1841 census when I visited the Warwick Record Office on Wednesday, don't know whether they are your family.

John Eburn age 49 Watchman
Charlotte his wife age 51 Weaver living in Gosford Street, Coventry.

Hannah Eburn age 35 Nurse, also Gosford Street but different address.
