thanks Phil. Although I went to Ashted probably hundreds of times when I was young I have no idea where anywhere was. In fact whilst still at school I worked some evenings at Ashted Service station near the viaduct but I dont know where that was in relation to Bloomsbury St.
Ashted Row Picture Palace. Looks about 1910/20. Lots of film choices advertised. Must have been the hey day of cinema going. Viv.

Yes my mom took us to Dr Tighe’s surgery and her mom (my grandmother) took her to Dr Tighe’s father before that. We didn’t live in Ashtead Row but all mom’s family lived in Duddeston so we were always up and down on the bus.Does anyone remember the tram stop outside the paper shop at the Cap or Cab stand by the barbers(Georges).There was the Brewery and Dr Tighe's
