The YMCA seems to be slightly overlooked in its contribution both on the front line and at home during WW1 and WW2. For those interested, there's a site illustrating the YMCA role and activities:


One Birmingham home front example is it's shelters, mobile tea cars and (in conjunction with Cadbury's) several Cocoa Caravans ! Practical help when and where most needed.
