WW2 casualty and civilians who died look up

First of all you need to conatct the "Burial Records Office" - there may be a charge for the info.
Then when you have the plot number and section you can visit. The office at Yardley is open Tuesday to Thursday but (as I found out last week) they do not deal with cemetery records. However they may be able to help you with directions and give you a copy of the map to help.

There is a map online here
Please let us know how you get on - even a photo would be good. Thanks

Thanks to yourself and everyone who replied to me. ❤️

Most likely to be the BSA bombed in November 1940. There seem to be a lot of discrepancies but I feel this is the one:

On November 19, 1940, the worst air raid on Birmingham occurred, with the Luftwaffe dropping 400 tons of high explosives and 24,000 incendiary bombs, including 18 parachute mines. The raid resulted in the deaths of 53 workers at the Small Heath BSA factory when two bombs caused the collapse of the building, as well as the loss of the O'Neill family on Belgrave Road (5 killed) and other residents throughout Small Heath and the surrounding areas. Overall, the raid on November 19-20, 1940, killed 615 people in Birmingham, making it one of the most devastating nights of the Blitz.

Lyn, I looked at bombing in 1940 but couldn't find anything in Small Heath for the date. I'm wondering if it was an explosion in the factory itself which I understand did happen. Might it be in the paper if this was the case? Definitely says December on the CWG site.

I think Nellie died from her injuries later as the BARRA site suggests Hannah and Nellie were both injured on the night of Nov 22nd/23rd.

I can see my nan, great grandmother and dad names are all these other names related to me ? Or just people who lived in the area?
if you look at the list of people living at 6/6 west holme garrison lane there are 6 people living there..the other names on the page are the names of some of the other people who lived in garrison lane.

edward tovey
hannah tovey
john duggan
nellie duggan
richard duggan
ronald duggan..
to the right of their names it gives their dates of birth

looks to me as though john ..nellie..richard and ronald are the children from hannahs first marriage

Nellie was a single parent and my dad took her maiden name. We have no idea who my dad's dad was

Presumably they died.of natural causes not enemy action.
I know most about both but was looking to confirm things.....Fred died in Selly Oak hospital and Beatrice was taken to Coventry but thought maybe they were injured in a raid before going to hospita.
