WW2 bomb money collection box Bull Ring

I remember, just after the war ended, that at the top of the Bull Ring was a wartime bomb, lying on its side. It had been made safe and emptied of explosive. I remember how I enjoyed putting money into the slot had been cut in it where money could be deposited for one charity or another.
 
There was another one in High Street opposite the Bodega. See it in an old forum post by the fence on the left
 
I seem to remember the bomb in the market was by a pet shop & close to a stall we would have cockles , mussels or whelks as a treat on Saturday, good memories.
 
Yep, that's how I remember the bomb too. My Dad used to take me round the shops on a Saturday and we'd finish up with a dish of cockles. ('andy carrier !).

Cockles, mussels, or whelks served on those tiny little white plates with lots of vinegar.
