I used to watch the wrestling with my Dad on a Saturday!
I went to Digbeth Civic Hall to see Les Kellett and also the" Royal twins", a woman in the front row hit Les with her umbrella!!

It was entertainment of its time. Lots of colourful characters and set moves, but all good fun.

Was it Kent Waltons ( high there grapple fans ) on ITV Saturday afternoon good old fashioned harmless fun . Forearm smash catapulting off the ropes watching the elderly ladies getting worked up.

I was there too!! Alf Kent, the ex wrestler and referee, who I think lived in Muntz Street, got front row tickets for my brother & me. He took us into the bar afterwards to meet Billy Two Rivers, who sadly died recently.

I was also a friend of Alf Kent, during the mid late 1960’s. A brother buffalo and real gentleman, we sadly lost contact when we moved to Brownhills.

Kent Walton - memories of my Dad engrossed in the Saturday afternoon wresting on TV. I didn’t know it at the time but Kent had been a Dj on Radio Luxembourg and also a judge on Thank Your Lucky Stars.
