Have you looked into the address of Partridge Green ? There is a lane called Lock Lane that runs from there out into the countryside. I could be that Cecil worked as an agricultural epithet on the Lock Estate farm.

Thanks for the message. I found out recently that he was a kitchen hand at Lock House at the age age of 19. I don't know how long he had been there or where he was prior to this location.

“Lock House, located in Partridge Green, West Sussex dates back to its construction around 1900. Originally known as the Convent of the Visitation, it served as a religious institution before being converted into a private residence.”

Yes there is quite a lot of information available of the house and property. Even Adele the singer lived there for while. A snippet from a paper said,
It's the £6million mansion that its owner claims is now 'unsellable' after Adele implied it is haunted.

The superstar singer told a chat show that Grade-II listed Lock House in the village of Partridge Green in West Sussex, which she rented for six months, was 'quite scary'.

is it possible to find lock house on street view...i am having problems finding it ? although i have found photos it looks a lovely place to live but mostly i think it must be lovely for cecils family to see where he worked as a young man..not everyone gets to see that.. the link below shows many indoor photos..a stunning place

In 1939 Lock Estate was in the ownership of the Harvey family, said to be owners of Claridge’s. They had taken over the house in the 1930s and made many alterations including a ballroom, heliport and a swimming pool. The nuns must have taken over around 1971 and were still there when the Head drowned in the bath in 1999. In 2002 there was a planning application to convert to 6 houses with new access.
