I am coming up to Brum at the beginning of November and as it will be All Souls Day I thought it would be only fitting to visit some of my ancestors graves. I visit ancestors graves in Studley a couple of times a year (see some of my posts elsewhere on this site) and try to tend them as best I can and leave flowers.
This time I plan to visit again the grave of my Porter's branch, 6 of which are in the same grave in Lodge Hill but I also want to find the resting place of the Wodyatt's. In particular Thomas Woodyatt who died 17 dec 1916, Susan Woodyatt who died 1/4Q 1936 and their daughter Elsie May Woodyatt who died 3/4Q 1912 aged 15years.
Wendy has, in the past, had a look in Key Hill for me but couldn't find Thomas. Thomas owned a factory in Bishop Street which may give a clue to burial site and I am in the process of ordering all three death certificates, this will not tell me where buried but may give me a clue to where they were living when they died whioch may also provide a clue for burial.
Unfortunately, my time in Brum will have to be brief this visit. I will only get about 1 1/2 days to do all the research I want to before visiting the graves I can identify and returning home. I also want to do some research on whether Susan Woodyatt was a suffragette or not.
So I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction as to which cemetry I should be targeting for my research and where I might find the records.
many thanks for reading this
Helen
