Hi
trying to find out as much as i can about the old park keepers house in witton lakes, recently came across it to rent, but would like to know more about the history of the house if possible as the rent seems low to me for what it is, have read the post about witton lakes also, anything anyone could offer would be much appreciated.
many thanks

I used to sail my model yacht on Witton Lakes, my Uncle Bert James lived close by. Too many years ago to remember the year, probably around 1950.

Hi ecatsmada: Welcome to BHF. It's hard to find any photos of the old Park Keeper's Cottage at Witton Lakes Park. There are lots of shots of the park online but the cottage never seems to be in any of them. I grew up in that area and know the Park well. There used to be a photo on the forum of the cottage but it was lost in the hacking of the site last year. You might contact Linda Hines who is a member of the Friends of Witton Lakes Association. Her e-mail is on the following link re Witton Lakes. If she can't help she may know someone who can. Good luck https://www.birminghammail.net/whats-on/things-to-do/walk-in-the-park-witton-lakes-in-gipsy-184017

Thanks both!

I've sent her an email, thank you for your help.
I'm not sure what im expecting to find out.. I just need to know more..
it seems quite isolated behind all those trees.
Id want to live there but i guess im a little nervous...

Hi Stacey:
Just a followup on the Cottage in Witton Lakes Park. This house would come under the Birmingham Council and they have an extensive web site
regarding Parks in Brum. Here is the web site for the Birmingham Council Parks Division https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/parks. There is a contact area on this site.
Linda may send you the same site.

My Dad also used to sail model yachts at Witton Lakes, a long time ago, but I recall that some of those boats were magnificent.
