Hi all, looking for some help, I have located 2 graves I have been looking for for sometime now, the graves are apparently located in Sections 1 & 5, however all the maps I have seen do not show these two areas. Does anyone have a map they can either send me or upload to this site please? I was hoping to see them on the map before I go at the weekend.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ron
...assuming N47 is shown as just 47 it is towards the op in the centre. Numbers are not great but you can make out 48 and 47 is below it.
Grave stones have numbers of the back which should be in some sort of order.
there is a clearer map on post 96 on below thread..it only gives the section numbers so i think you may need help in finding the exact burial within that plot..trouble is i dont think there is any working staff in the office now at witton to guide you to the actual grave..i found out that my grandad is buried in section 3 grave no 0340 this was in 2020 and i made arrangements for a member of staff to show me the spot then covid took hold and soon after that the office closed..so although i have a very good idea where grandad is i still cant be certain..its sad as he was gassed twice during ww1 came back home but died young just before the start of ww2..buried in unmarked grave
Just wanted to say my Lynocks from Brum were all buried at Witton. I went the other day thinking I'd find some but nothing. I didn't know about the pauper graves but that is where they are. I took time to take other grave photos to put on Find a Grave because only 2% are photographed amazingly. I think Witton should get an army of volunteers, divide the cemetery up into sections and get everything photographed. It's so enormous I saw an eldery couple blindly walking round looking for a grave in vain. It helps so much for family trees or relatives living abroad, etc.
