Sheldontony (Post #22),
Only once since we moved to Crete in 2005 have we seen a decent coating of snow at sea level and that lasted about two days. We're up in one of the villages at 800 ft a.s.l. near Neapoli and had that same snowfall about four years ago, otherwise just a sprinkling on three occasions. However, two miles up into the mountains at 3000 ft a.s.l. and just two miles further inland and we've seen snow still not gone until June.
This year, courtesy of Lidl, we've seen turnips for the first time, though I realise many people don't like them. More Brussels sprouts about this year too in a few of the Greek supermarkets as well as Lidl and the British Food Shop importing them.
