I find the following way the easiest to 'down size' pics/files for uploading (1) right click on selected pic (2)click 'open with' (3) click 'paint' (4) press Control and letter W together, in the resulting box reduce from 100% to (say) 50%, click OK click 'x' in top right hand corner. Eric
Hi All,Phil,
Paint Shop Pro is now in Version 9, though it now has bog-standard and Ultimate versions. I also have PhotoShop Vers. 7, Photivo, LightZone, Gimp, and umpteen others, but I still prefer PhotoImpact X3, the last version ever produced after Ulead were bought out by Corel. It runs happily on W7 and I've no reason to believe it wouldn't run on W10. Why should I change from something I know like the back of my hand and does everything I want?
We'll also see the end of Shockwave Flash this year as everything it did (and not very well) is now built into HTML5. Just occasionally I like progress!

Old Boy,
If you're not into technicalities, then use whichever version of Windows that you are happy with. Those of us who are well into photo post-processing or sound recording do need to be careful what we use. Since you are not into technicalities, I won't take this any further.

There apparently was another update to Win 10 this morning. I was happily watching TV when the sound disappeared again.Old Boy,

Hi All, My daughter has recently given me her old computer which had been updated to Windows 10. Up to then I was using Vista. I do not understand all the technical jargon in the previous posts but can say that I am getting on better with Windows 10 than I did with Vista. Old Boy
Same for me. I got a message on Sunday to say that a Windows update was taking place. What a difference some decent Windows 10 updates make ....
On 18 Aug I had to re-install Windows after major crash see #558 but the new computer was still not running well and by 23 Aug I was preparing to dump the computer back on the supplier. On 24 Aug Microsoft issued updates KB3176934 and KB3176936 and ever since (two weeks) the computer has run perfectly as shown on the reliability chart below.

Hi Eric, I find it by using an icon on the desktop screen as described in post#424. It puts the icon on the desktop screen which when clicked shows the chart. Another way is to start typing reliability in the search and it will find 'Reliability History'. It is actually in the 'Control Panel' and can be found there but the icon method is the easiest.oldMohawk #591, how do I locate that reliability chart, have viewed it once but forgot how I located it. Have checked settings but no luck. Eric
