Hi
I am looking for place or street in probably Aston area. It existed roundabout the early 1900.
Please can anyone help or point me in the right area.
Address was 4 Winchester Place.
Google maps do not show this place.
Thanks

I can only find one Winchester Place, off Alum Rock Road. If you have a name for the address, then we could check that year's electoral roll to confirm. Winchester Place is marked in red on the c 1903 map below. It is reasonable to assume that no 4 was the one furthest from Alum rock road, which is not named on the map, but is the continuation of Saltley high St, which is named (High St)

Hi mikejee
Many thanks for your prompt reply. You have 'hit the nail on the head' The family name I am researching is William Herring and his son William.
Other family lived at Gate Street which proves you have found Winchester place for me!
Marvellous!!
