He died in the street of a heart attack in 1898 in Bordesley green so perhaps some of the churchyards in that area.

thanks alberta i do have that info so it could be a case of me phoning round..this could be a long job i fear:rolleyes:

Hi lyn, I had a quick look at the BMSGH index and he's not in Witton or Warstone, both of them have William Taskers but not "Your Man"!
(Witton 1892, Warstone 1880 & 1895)
Best wishes.
rosie.

Lyn, the Civil Reg shows he was registered in Aston Sept quarter 1898. Perhaps Aston Church, my gt grandmother was buried in Warstone Lane when she lived in Bordesley. No body said it would be easy did they!!!

hello di...you are quite right its never easy...i found my grandmother over at yardley yet she died in hockley..i have checked warstone lane and key hill as their burials are online and hes not there..strangly enough warstone lane do have a william tasker but the burial was in 1895 so thats not him...i have a feeling he could be at yardley or witton...as i always say..onwards and upwards:rolleyes:

Lyn, the marriage is different to the newspaper article the wife being Elizabeth Kidney.
I have a birth of Elizabeth Kidney in Builth Brecknockshire 1854.

Lyn - I know you use Ancestry - there seem to be some records available via "fold3" which I have yet to investigate. There is a "Royal Chelsea Pensioner Soldier Service Record".

hi janice...thanks for any help you can give...not sure what fold3 means:( the chelsea service record sounds interesting..i am going to make a start phoning round cems..william has to be somewhere

lyn

Hi Lynn - As far as I can tell fold3 is another website linked to Ancestry - some records are free but others are not (it says "click here to go to fold3 but nothing happens when I try). It might be cheaper to see if the National Archives have the same info. Have found it is on Find My Past so hopefully someone on here will see this and look for you.

so while i am waiting to hear from the cems i am still struggling to find william with wife on the 1891 or the 1901...:(

Now I know you have done too much research - if he died in 1898 he won't be on 1901 - Although perhaps you meant Elizabeth.

oh dear time for a lie down...my only excuse for this lapse of concentration janice is that i am full up of the cold..me head dont belong to me at the min:D so just looking for him and wife on the 1891

lyn

Poor you - hope you get rid of it soon. I had a look on 1891 as well - even tried family search in case of transcription error on Ancestry but no joy so far. Had a look on FMP - seem to be several records but you need a subscription to actually see them.

thanks janice...thanks also for checking the 1891..wonder if he was living in brecon as his wife came from there then moved back to brum a few years later...cant be certain but i think i found his sister mary ann tasker in the workhouse on the 71 aged 19 plate burnisher which is what her mom caroline was on the 61..think caroline died in 1867 aged 46...if that is his sister she made good in the end as i think i have her on the 81 at 58 church (market hall) as a retail tabaconist..

janice ive noticed the name tasker is more common than i thought it would be...others in birmingham as well..i was thinking that while im laid up and waiting for the cems to get back i may as well do a little digging into williams family...

Yes - there seem to be more than I expected as well. I did think it unusual and wondered if it got transcribed as Tucker (more common to me) or something else.

or even tusker...anything is possible...seen some very strange variations over the years...i think williams dad also william b abt 1824 died in 1880 age 56

Lyn, at that time there were still burials in the local churchyards, how about Yardley old church.
Steve seems to think it would be where Bordesley green residents would have been buried.

thanks alberta do you mean st edburghas is that yardley old church ?...so far hes not at
YARDLEY
ST GEORGES
ST MARTINS
ST PAULS
WARSTONE LANE
KEY HILL
WITTON..
