William Guest British Lion Pub

Hi Lynne, perhaps she used her previous married name instead of her maiden name?
In 1920 Helena Harriet Tibbins was living at 174 Miller St with an Alice Ann Denny.
I also found this,though I don't know if it's relevant?
Births Sep 1912 -
Tibbins Ernest mmn Tibbins Birmingham 6d 217
Deaths Dec 1912
Tibbins Ernest 0 Birmingham 6d 210
and this
Births Mar 1893
Helena Harriet Cooper Aston 6d 418

I can confirm that the photo Lyn posted which she found on the Milton Street thread is the British Lion. To the left of the pub is Ray's first barber shop, and I have the original of that photo. I will show him the photo of the Guests with their son Reginald as he may just remember them as it was about that time he opened it, just after doing his National Service.

Hi Lynne, found this today
Births Mar 1925
Reginald J Guest
mmn Cooper Birmingham N. 6d 694
Would this be your Reginald,do you think?
I did notice that the one I posted with mmn Tibbins was a Ronald

hi lynn, i think that is the right one,but she did marry a tibbins in 1912 dont know what happened to him.
to be honest i dont know much about them at all,i only saw william once at my grandads funeral,so all this info from you people
on the forum is all new to me,but its great to have it.
thanks again
lynne.

Hi Lynne I think we may be related! William Guest and Helena Guest (nee Tibbins & Cooper) were my great grandparents. Ronald William Guest married to Joan Kathleen Guest (nee Jay) are my grandparents and Reginald Guest is my great uncle.

Let me know what you think but stumbling upon this site and the photos has blown me away! Sincerely to all that have posted - THANK YOU!

Hi new relation! he he.

I can now add your grandad frank (my great great uncle?) to my family tree. If you would like to exchange any more family details that would be great! I don't really know that much more but I shall be visiting my grandparents in the next few weeks and will try and glean more info from them. As for the offer of the photos, that would be fantastic, can't wait to show my grandad! I have a few photos, I shall go through them and see what I can find and scan.
I will private message you with my address.

Leigh :)

Hi Roz,

Yes Helena Harriet Cooper (her birth surname) married Ernest Tibbins in 1912. They also had a daughter together but I can't find out any info on her. Think her name was Nelly????

Helena was my great grandmother.
