Wilby saddles

I'd heard of them but knew nothing about them, I found out today that they were a Birmingham company. Does anyone have more details?
 
The firm seems to appear between 1878 and 1880, when Wilby & Son, engineers are at 111 ladywood road
In 1883 and 1884 there is Wilby & Son , engineers at 47, 48 Tindal St
In 1888 there is Arthur Ernest Wilby , rivet manufacturer and machinists at 52 Alston St
In 1890 there is A E Wilby, machinist & nail manufacturer in Sheepcote St
In 1892, 1895 and 1896 there is no directory listing for them
In 1899 there is A & E Wilby & Co wire working machine ,makers in B rowning St, and the Wilby Pedal Co, cycle pedal and fittings manufacturers at 7 Oozells St
In 1900 there is A & E Wilby & Co wire working machine ,makers at Ladywood wharf, Great Tindal St and the Wilby pedal Co, cycle pedal and fittings manufacturers at 7 Oozells St
In 1904 and 1908 they are listed as Arthur Ernest Wilby, cycle makers and are at 8 City Road.
By 1912 they were liosted as cycle saddle makers and were at 216 Icknield Port Road.
By 1921 they were at 115 and 115 Holloway Head, where they stayed until disappearing between 1956 and 1962

Thanks mike for all this information on locations. The saddle I saw had 'A E Wilby' 'Holloway Head' on the side stampings, although the 'Head' part was illegible so I didn't realise until now. It also had 'Birmingham'.
 
Hi there this factory is in our family. My maiden name is Wilby!!!! The A E Wilby dicussed above was my dads dad lol ......
 
They disappeared due to ill health of Arthur he and his wife died of cancer within a couple of months of each other.....
 
I used to live next to "Wilby" family, and the son , Michael and I used to hang out our bedroom windows at night and natter. That was on Fellows Lane, Harborne, Birmingham ... is this the same family?
 
I need to update that my dad Michael Wilby passed away in JANUARY 2017 6 months after my beloved daughter Kim...... my mother passed away 2 years ago
