Why Robin Hood?

Does anyone know why the name of Robin Hood got attached to a whole area around Hall Green and Shirley? Was the pub the first thing to go by the name? I see on a C19 OS map that there's a Robin Hood Farm there.

Robin Hood Hall Green

Some images of Robin Hood Lane - there are no dates available for any of them. Although the third one looks about 1910 possibly. Is this the entrance to the Robin Hood house ? Viv. Is this the entrance to a large house ? Is this the house belonging to the above entrance ?
